ADVANCED COMFORT
FOR A
DIGITAL FUTURE
Today’s patients are putting new demands on their eyes using digital devices.

Introducing Bausch +Lomb Ultra®
with MoistureSealTM technology.
Drop-outs persist.
Despite advances in silicone hydrogel lenses, drop out rates persist. The popularity of personal digital devices and a device-centric lifestyle provides new challenges to contact lens wearers. Frequent use of digital devices is the primary driver of dissatisfaction in contact lenses. Upgrading patients to a lens that suits their lifestyle is essential to the patient’s wearing experience and reducing drop outs.

Comfort Compromised
We can blink up to
66% less on average
when using a digital
device.
Long hours using a digital device or computer, dryness and discomfort were the top contributing factors in contact lens drop-off.
Vision Challenged
Contact lens materials behave differently in their ability to resist dehydration and maintain a consistent optical surface.

With an average blink rate as low as once every 12 seconds the visual performance of many leading silicone hydrogel contact lenses are compromised.
It's a digital world
Ultra®: A unique 2-phase polymerisation process
Phase 1
Phase 1 starts with a uniquely formulated silicone backbone.

A proprietary combination of long- and short-chain silicone monomers results in an exceptionally high oxygen transmissibility and low modulus.

ULTRA® prevails in combining breathability and softness where other silicone hydrogel lenses require you to choose between 100 them.
Phase 2
Phase 2 integrates the water-loving polymer Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) within the silicone backbone.
  • PVP chains connect end-to-end, and interweave within and around the silicone backbone.
  • Surface PVP results in a hydrophilic surface with high wettability – without the need for a surface plasma treatment.
Ultra® Performance
Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® provides excellent material properties against leading silicone hydrogel contact lenses.

Featuring aspheric optics, ULTRA® provides a low spherical aberration8, reducing glare and enhancing low light situations.

Optometrists found that 93% of ULTRA® contact lenses have little or no deposits after one month.

Ultra® design & easy upgrades.
Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® is designed with comfort in mind. A thin edge design enables a smooth, gentle transition from lens to conjunctival tissue while the lens material and design combine for successful first fits for both centration and movement.
The high success in fitting rates mean you can enjoy easy upgrades, less chair time and your patients will appreciate the seamless fitting experience too.
Along with superior comfort to leading silicone hydrogel brands, 9 in 10 patients agreed that ULTRA® provided clear and comfortable vision while using digital devices for long periods of time.
